A printer under contract gets fixed. One without gets fitted in.

A printer that stops working on an invoicing day is not a hardware problem, it is a business one. SNA Infotech has run print service in Mumbai since 1989, from our own service centre at Andheri East — not through a subcontractor — with engineers on site and a bench for the work that needs the device stripped down.

We cover both routes. An annual maintenance contract puts a contracted response time, scheduled preventive maintenance and genuine spares behind your fleet. A one-off repair gets a single failed device working again. Both are multi-brand: HP, Xerox, Brother and Lexmark as authorised dealers, plus the Canon, Ricoh and Kyocera units most Mumbai offices have accumulated.

Pay per call, non-comprehensive or comprehensive

The right answer depends on how much the printing matters and how predictable you need the cost to be. All three are priced per device, so a mixed fleet can carry a mix of cover.

No contract

Pay per call

One-off repair when a device fails. Diagnosis, labour and parts quoted and charged per visit. Sensible for a single ageing unit or a one-time fault.

Most common

Non-comprehensive AMC

An annual contract covering unlimited service visits, labour and preventive maintenance, with spare parts quoted separately on your approval. The usual choice for a healthy fleet.

  • Call-outUnlimited visits

  • Spare partsQuoted and charged separately
  • Response timeContracted SLA
  • Preventive serviceScheduled through the year
Fully covered

Comprehensive AMC

Everything in a non-comprehensive contract plus the covered spare parts, so a failed fuser or a worn roller does not generate a separate invoice. Predictable cost for a critical fleet.

Printers are often only part of the estate

If the same contract should also cover desktops, laptops, servers, networks, CCTV, UPS or ELV systems, that is one agreement with one accountable partner rather than five vendors. Our annual maintenance page sets out how a mixed-estate AMC is scoped and priced.

What an AMC includes

Inside a printer maintenance contract

Everything below applies under both cover types. The only line that changes between them is whether spare parts are inside the annual fee or quoted on approval.

  • Unlimited breakdown visits within the contract period, to the agreed response time
  • Preventive maintenance on a schedule, so paper paths and rollers are cleaned before they jam
  • Diagnosis and labour on site, with the bench at Andheri East as backup for stripped-down work
  • Genuine OEM spare parts — included under comprehensive cover, quoted on approval otherwise
  • Firmware and driver support, including re-pointing print queues after a server or network change
  • Help desk and ticket logging, so a call has a reference rather than a phone number someone remembers
  • A named account contact for scope, SLA performance, renewals and contract changes
  • Periodic fault review, flagging units where the service cost has overtaken a replacement
Why put printers under contract

What changes once there is an agreement

A response time you can hold us to

Without a contract, a repair is scheduled around whoever is free. Under AMC, the response time is a term of the agreement and reviewed against performance.

A service cost you can budget

Comprehensive cover turns unpredictable repair invoices into one annual figure — useful when finance needs the number before the year starts.

One contract for a mixed fleet

Most Mumbai offices run printers from three or four vendors bought over a decade. One AMC covers them all, with one escalation point.

Honest advice on what to retire

We will tell you when a device is costing more in service calls than a replacement would, rather than quietly billing the repairs.

Repairs

What we are called out for most

Printer faults are repetitive, which is the good news: almost everything below has a known cause and a part we are likely to be holding.

Paper jams & feed faults

Worn pickup rollers, separation pads and misaligned trays. The commonest call we get, and the one preventive maintenance actually prevents.

Print-quality defects

Streaks, banding, ghosting, faded output and colour misregistration — usually a drum, fuser, transfer belt or laser scanner issue rather than toner.

Fuser & drum failure

Heat-related failures on high-volume units. We hold the common fuser and drum units for the HP and Xerox models we supply most.

Network & scan-to problems

Devices dropping off the network, scan-to-email breaking after a mail-server or Microsoft 365 change, and print queues pointing at a retired server.

ADF & scanner faults

Double feeds, skewed scans, dirty CIS glass and torn separation pads on units that scan in batches all day.

Error codes & lockouts

Persistent panel error codes, firmware faults and devices locked by a failed update. Diagnosed properly rather than power-cycled and hoped over.

FAQ

Printer AMC & repair in Mumbai — common questions

Both cover unlimited service visits, labour and scheduled preventive maintenance under a contracted response time. The difference is spare parts: under a comprehensive AMC, covered spares are included in the annual fee, so a failed fuser does not produce a separate invoice. Under a non-comprehensive AMC, parts are quoted and charged on your approval. Comprehensive costs more up front and is the better choice for high-volume or business-critical devices.

Yes. Our service centre is multi-brand and most of our AMC contracts cover estates assembled over years from several vendors. We start with a survey of what you actually have, then tell you which units are worth putting under contract and which are near the end of their economic life.

HP, Xerox, Brother and Lexmark — the brands we are authorised dealers for — plus Canon, Ricoh, Kyocera, Epson, Samsung, Konica Minolta and Sharp under AMC and break-fix, and barcode printers from TVS, Zebra and TSC.

It is set in your contract rather than quoted on a web page, because it depends on the site, the device and the cover tier you choose. Same-business-day and next-business-day tiers are both common in Mumbai. Pay-per-call repairs without a contract are scheduled on availability.

Yes. Log it with our service centre and we will diagnose the fault, quote the parts and labour, and repair it at your site or on our Andheri East bench. If the same device has needed several calls in a year, we will say so and price an AMC against it.

Genuine OEM parts as standard. For the HP and Xerox models we supply most, we hold the common wear items — fusers, drums, pickup rollers, separation pads — so the repair is not waiting on an order. Where a part is genuinely unobtainable for an older device, we will tell you before quoting rather than after.

Toner is normally supplied separately, since it is driven by your page volume rather than by service. If you would rather have print as a single monthly cost with toner, parts and service inside it, that is a rental or managed print agreement rather than an AMC — we quote both.

Yes, and that is the usual shape of our larger contracts. One agreement, line-by-line device pricing, consolidated billing and a single escalation point, with the SLA applying per site. Our annual maintenance page covers how that extends to desktops, servers, networks, CCTV and UPS under the same contract.

We tell you plainly, with the reason and the cost of the alternative. If the device is beyond economic repair we will quote a replacement from the brands we deal in, or a rental unit if the purchase has to wait for approvals. We do not keep billing visits against a machine that should be retired.

Per device, based on the make and model, its age, the monthly page volume, the cover type and the SLA tier you need. The proposal is line by line, so you can see exactly what each unit costs to keep under contract and drop the ones that are not worth it.

Make, model, rough age and monthly volume for each device — or just tell us how many printers and where. We will survey, then price each unit with its cover type and SLA in writing.
