Barcode & POS Devices

Label printers, scanners, mobile computers, RFID readers and point-of-sale hardware — supplied, installed and serviced

End-to-end device sales & service

We specify the device, then we keep it running

SNA Infotech has sold over 3,000 barcode and point-of-sale devices across six major OEMs, and completed more than 250 barcode installations around the country. The devices are only half of it: we install and configure with our own trained AIDC technicians, service them afterwards, and manufacture the labels, ribbons and paper rolls they run on.

That combination is the reason to buy hardware from us rather than from a catalogue. When a label will not scan, the question is usually not the scanner — it is the print contrast, the ribbon grade, the label material or the symbology. A supplier who only sells the box cannot tell you which. We can, because we make the consumables too.

We work multi-OEM on purpose, with twelve-plus partnerships, so a recommendation is driven by what suits the job rather than by what we are tied to.

Barcode label printers

Four classes, chosen by daily volume

The single most common specification mistake is buying a desktop printer for an industrial duty cycle. It works for three months and then becomes a service ticket every fortnight. These are the real dividing lines.

Entry to mid volume

Desktop thermal printers

The right answer for a retail counter, a dispatch desk or a small production line printing a few thousand labels a day.

  • Resolution203 / 300 dpi
  • Print speed2–6 ips
  • Label widthUp to 4.25"
  • ConnectivityUSB / Serial / Ethernet
  • Typical dutyA few thousand labels/day
High volume

Industrial thermal printers

Metal-bodied machines built to run a shift without attention, for manufacturing, warehousing and distribution.

  • Resolution203 / 300 / 600 dpi
  • Print speedUp to 14 ips
  • Label widthUp to 6"
  • ConnectivityEthernet / Wi-Fi standard
  • Typical duty10,000+ labels/day
On the move

Mobile & portable printers

Belt-worn or vehicle-carried printers for shelf-edge labelling, field dispatch and delivery paperwork printed at the door.

  • Form factorBelt / shoulder worn
  • ConnectivityBluetooth / Wi-Fi
  • PowerBattery, swappable
  • MediaLabels and receipts
  • Typical useRetail shelf edge, field service
RFID

RFID printer-encoders

Print the human-readable label and write the RFID chip in one pass, with a verification step so a bad chip never leaves the printer.

  • FunctionPrint + encode in one pass
  • VerificationOn-printer encode check
  • MediaUHF inlay label stock
  • Pairs withOur UHF Labs tag range
  • Typical useSource tagging, asset tagging

Also: billing, ticket and dot-matrix printers

Beyond label printers we supply thermal billing printers for POS counters, ticket printers for cinemas and venues, and dot-matrix printers where multi-part stationery or a carbon copy is still a requirement — which is more places than people expect: transport, toll plazas, government offices and anywhere a physically duplicated receipt is the record. TVS Electronics, Epson and Citizen cover most of that range.

A word on resolution

203 dpi is enough for ordinary barcodes and text. Move to 300 dpi when labels are small, carry fine print or need dense 2D codes, and to 600 dpi for very small components and jewellery tags. Higher resolution prints slower, so it is a trade rather than an upgrade — tell us the smallest thing on the label and we will tell you which you need.

Scanners

Barcode scanners for the counter, the line and the aisle

Handheld laser (1D)

The economical workhorse for clean, printed 1D barcodes at a counter or a store room. If every code you scan is a printed barcode on paper, this is all you need.

2D imager scanners

Reads QR, DataMatrix and damaged or poorly printed 1D codes, and reads them off a phone screen — which is why anything involving digital coupons, UPI or e-way bills needs an imager rather than a laser.

Fixed-mount & in-counter

Built into a checkout counter or mounted beside a conveyor, reading hands-free as items pass. Standard in supermarkets and on packing lines.

Wearable & ring scanners

Worn on the finger so both hands stay free for picking. In a warehouse doing high pick volumes, the seconds saved per pick add up to a measurable shift difference.

Mobile computers

When the scan has to happen where the stock is

A scanner sends a code to whatever it is plugged into. A mobile computer runs your application on the device, so the decision happens at the rack rather than back at a desk.

Handheld rugged computers

A scanner, a screen and your WMS or ERP app in one device, specified to survive drops onto concrete and a wash-down bay.

Vehicle-mounted computers

Forklift-mounted terminals with wide-angle scanning, so a driver confirms a putaway or a pick without getting down.

Wearable computers

Arm or wrist-mounted units paired with a ring scanner, for pick-and-pack operations where the hands never stop.

RFID hardware

Readers, and the planning that makes them work

Fixed UHF readers

Mounted at doors, dock gates and conveyor points to read tags automatically as stock moves past, with no operator involved.

Handheld RFID readers

Bluetooth reader sleds that pair with an Android phone — the hardware behind TagScout, and deliberately multi-brand so you are not locked to one manufacturer.

Antenna & middleware planning

The part that decides whether an RFID project works. We survey the site, model antenna placement and read zones, and specify the middleware before anything is bought.

Point of sale

The hardware behind the billing counter

Thermal receipt printers

Desktop and handheld Bluetooth models for billing counters, kitchen stations and mobile order-taking. Epson, Bixolon and Posiflex.

Touch monitors & POS terminals

All-in-one and modular terminals for retail and restaurant counters, with OEM software partnerships for industry-specific POS. Posiflex and POSBank.

Cash drawers & peripherals

Cash drawers, customer displays and the connectors that make a counter work as one system rather than four devices sharing a desk.

Labelling software

The label is only as good as what drives it

We supply BarTender and Loftware, the two label design and print-management platforms most enterprise customers standardise on, and we develop custom label and integration software where off-the-shelf does not fit the process. Where it matters most is the join: pulling the batch number, the expiry, the serial or the GRN straight out of your ERP so nobody retypes it onto a label. That integration is normally the difference between a barcode project that holds and one that quietly reverts to a spreadsheet.

How we work

Specify, supply, install, support

Specify

We ask what you are labelling, how many a day, and what the label has to survive — then recommend a device, not a price list.

Supply

Multi-OEM, so the recommendation is driven by fit rather than by whichever brand we are tied to.

Install

Our own trained AIDC technicians install and configure on site, with installation support across India.

Support

Annual maintenance, spares and operator training, with the consumables to match coming off our own line.

FAQ

Choosing barcode and POS hardware — common questions

If every code you scan is a cleanly printed 1D barcode on paper, a laser is cheaper and perfectly good. Choose a 2D imager if you need QR or DataMatrix, if you scan codes off customers' phone screens, or if your labels get scuffed — imagers read damaged codes that lasers give up on. Most new installations now specify imagers for that last reason alone.

Volume and environment decide it. Under a few thousand labels a day in an office or retail setting, a desktop printer is right. Above that, or anywhere with dust, heat or continuous shifts, an industrial machine costs more upfront and much less over its life — the duty cycle is what you are buying.

Yes, and deliberately. We hold partnerships with twelve-plus AIDC and POS OEMs including Zebra, TSC, Argox, Citizen, Epson, Newland, Bixolon, Posiflex and POSBank. That lets us specify on fit and availability rather than defending a single line.

We install. We have our own trained AIDC technicians and provide installation support across India — 250-plus barcode installations to date. Supply-only is possible if you have your own team, but most customers take the installation because the configuration is where projects go wrong.

Usually yes, subject to a health check on the device first. We also take these onto annual maintenance contracts — see annual maintenance for how our AMCs are structured.

We supply BarTender and Loftware, and we develop custom label and integration software where off-the-shelf does not fit. The software usually matters more than the printer — it is what connects the label to your ERP.

No. This page is barcode and POS hardware. Office printers and A3 multifunction devices are a separate line — see printer dealer in Mumbai for those.

Tell us what you are labelling, not which model you want

What goes on the label, how many a day, and what the label has to survive. We will come back with a device, the matching consumables and an installed price — rather than a catalogue to work through yourself.
