Cinema & Entry Ticket Rolls

Computerised ticket rolls manufactured at our own plant near Mumbai — sensor-marked to your system, printed in up to five colours

Computerised ticketing

A ticket roll is not a billing roll with a logo on it

It has to feed one specific ticketing system, register on that system’s sensor, cut cleanly at speed through a full house, and carry print that still looks like your brand at the end of a busy weekend. Get any one of those wrong and the problem surfaces at a counter with a queue behind it.

SNA Infotech manufactures computerised cinema ticket rolls, entry tickets, cafe rolls and billing rolls at a 9,000 sq ft automated plant at Vasai East, near Mumbai. We have been doing it long enough to know what each box-office system wants, and the customer list is the short version of the argument: INOX, Cinépolis, Carnival, Miraj, SRS, Sterling, Nova and Mukta A2 all run on rolls made here, as do UFO and Qube on the distribution side.

Because the plant is ours, a non-standard width, a specific paper grade or a five-colour reverse is a production decision rather than a request passed up a supply chain — and a reorder is a job number, not a hunt for stock.

What we make

Four rolls that run a venue

Most venues buy all four from different suppliers and spend their time reconciling three delivery schedules. They come off one line here.

Cinema ticket rolls

Custom-printed thermal tickets with sensor marks, cut and wound to the requirement of your box-office system. Multiplex chains run these across every screen, every day, which is why consistency between batches matters more than unit price.

Entry & gate ticket rolls

Admission tickets for amusement parks, exhibitions, museums and venues, printed with artwork, terms and serial or barcode data for gate scanning.

Cafe & concession rolls

Food-court and concession billing rolls, usually branded to match the ticket so the whole visit carries one identity rather than three different papers.

Billing & thermal rolls

Standard POS billing rolls for the box office, retail counters and kitchen printers — plain, or printed on the reverse with terms and offers.

Specifications

The numbers, and the four that actually decide it

Roll specification

  • Roll width54 mm – 110 mm
  • Paper thickness44 GSM – 120 GSM
  • Paper typeHansol, Indian Prime, top coated
  • PrintingUp to 5 colours, front & back
  • FinishingPerforation and sensor marks
  • Core & windingSet to your printer’s requirement

Why the spec sheet is the easy part

Width and GSM are quick to agree. What separates a roll that runs for a year from one that generates service calls is the four details below — and they are the ones a generic supplier cannot answer because they have never been asked to match a specific box-office system.

That is the whole reason to send us a used ticket rather than a size.

What it isWhy it decides the job
Sensor mark positionThe black mark on the reverse tells the printer where to cut. A millimetre out and the machine either wastes a ticket on every cut or jams at a show change, which is the worst possible moment. We set the mark to your specific system rather than to a generic standard.
Paper grade and coatingBox-office printers run hot and fast. Too thin and the ticket curls or tears at the cut; too thick and the roll diameter stops fitting the housing. Top-coated stock holds print legibly for the life of a ticket that lives in a pocket.
Winding direction and coreFace-in or face-out, and the right core diameter. Get it wrong and the roll physically will not load, which is a problem discovered at a counter on a Friday evening rather than in a purchase order.
Colour consistencyA ticket carries your brand. Because we hold the artwork and the plates against your job number, batch two looks like batch one — no re-approval cycle and no drift between deliveries across a chain.
Printing & branding

What goes on a ticket, front and back

Every person who walks into your venue takes one of these home. It is the cheapest print impression a venue ever buys, and most leave the reverse blank.

Front of house

Show time, screen, seat and booking reference on the front; your terms, offers or loyalty prompt on the reverse, where it is read while the customer waits.

Gate scanning

Barcode or QR printed as part of the ticket for scan-in at the door, with serial ranges where the system or the audit requires them.

Branding

Up to five colours front and back means the ticket works as a brand surface rather than a receipt — which is the cheapest print impression a venue ever buys.

Control

Pre-printed serials and numbered ranges for venues that reconcile tickets against takings at the end of a night.

Who runs on our rolls

Most of the Indian multiplex market

Ticketing is a business where nobody switches supplier on a brochure. These are chains and operators that have run our rolls through their own machines, in their own venues, at volume.

The same line runs every other kind of ticket

Amusement park and attraction admissions, exhibition and museum entry, metro and transport tickets, toll plaza receipts, and ATM rolls for banking all come off the same plant to the same standards. A venue that needs ticket rolls usually needs concession rolls and back-office billing rolls too, and running them on one supplier and one schedule removes a surprising amount of administration from someone’s week.

How an order runs

From a used ticket to a standing schedule

Send a sample ticket

The quickest start is one used ticket from the machine it came out of, plus the system name. That tells us width, mark position, cut length and winding in one go.

We quote and proof

A price per roll, and for printed work a physical proof to approve. Nothing runs until you have held one.

We manufacture

Production at the Vasai plant under our ISO 9001:2015 quality system, with the artwork and specification filed against your job number.

Call-off schedule

Chains move to a standing schedule so rolls arrive at each site before they run out, rather than a scramble when a screen runs dry.

FAQ

Ticket rolls — common questions

Almost always. Send us one used ticket and tell us the make of the printer or box-office system. From that we can match the width, the sensor mark position, the cut length, the core and the winding direction, then file the specification so every reorder behaves identically.

It is the black register mark printed on the reverse of the roll that tells the printer where one ticket ends and the next begins. If it is misplaced the printer mis-cuts, wastes stock, or stops mid-transaction. It is the single most common reason a cheaper roll turns out not to be cheaper.

Up to five, on both the front and the back, with perforation if the ticket needs a tear-off stub. Most venues use the front for the show detail and the back for terms, offers or a loyalty prompt.

Yes. We supply and service thermal ticket and billing printers alongside the rolls — see barcode & POS devices. Buying both from one supplier means that when a roll will not feed, there is no argument about whose fault it is.

Plain rolls in standard widths go out in small quantities. Printed rolls carry a minimum run because of the plate and setup cost, and the minimum drops sharply on repeat orders once the artwork is on file. Tell us the volume and we will quote the minimum alongside the price.

Yes. We supply multiplex chains and venues across India from the Vasai plant, and manufacture to export-compliant standards for customers shipping overseas. Chains with many sites usually run a call-off schedule with delivery direct to each location.

Yes — amusement parks, exhibitions, metro and transport ticketing, toll plaza receipts and ATM rolls all come off the same line. The general POS and barcode range is on labels, ribbons and paper rolls.

Send us one used ticket

One ticket out of the machine, and the name of the system it came from, is enough for us to match the width, the sensor mark, the cut and the winding — and to quote against it. For printed work you approve a physical proof before anything runs.
