Securing Multiple Branch Offices with One CCTV Platform

For wealth managers, brokers and other finance businesses, CCTV supports client trust, staff safety and investigations. Once you have more than one office, the real question is how to keep surveillance consistent without wasting money.

Standardise the platform, not the size

Using the same camera and NVR brand at every branch means one mobile app, one training process and interchangeable spares. The hardware size should still fit each site: a head office may need a 16-channel recorder, while a smaller branch may need only eight channels.

Five rules for branch-office CCTV

• Choose dome cameras indoors: they are discreet, tamper-resistant and suited to reception and work areas.
• Use 4MP or higher resolution: faces and documents stay clear when you zoom into a recording.
• Use PoE everywhere: one cable per camera simplifies installation and future moves.
• Check existing cabling before replacing it: if CAT6 is already in place and tests well, reuse it.
• Lock the recorder away: a small rack protects the NVR and switch from tampering.
